Mannington on HGTV’s Rock the Block: Master Suites
- Flooring
- Design
- Decorating
In season five, episode three of Rock the Block, we see the designers move upstairs to design and build out some lavish master suites in their homes. These spaces included master bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets, along with an outdoor balcony space. While Lyndsay and Leslie succeeded in creating a winning master suite in season three and were eager to do it again, the other teams had missed the mark in previous seasons and were determined to learn from past mistakes and redeem themselves this time around. The competition was definitely tough in this episode.
As was the case for episode one and episode two this season, we saw a lot of Mannington flooring in the main suites. Let’s take a look at how the designers used it in their spaces.
Team 1: Page & Mitch
In the master bedroom created by Page and Mitch, they took full advantage of the waterfront view. Not only did they position the bed to face the water, they also built a platform for the bed so that people will be able to look out at the water from the bed without having the view obstructed by the rails on the balcony. Their amazing bed platform was made with Mokuzai luxury vinyl flooring in Autumn Leaf, part of Mannington’s ADURA®APEX line. They also used Mokuzai for the main floor area in the bedroom and in the walk-in closet.
Overall, Page and Mitch’s master suite left judge Kristina Crestin, from Farmhouse Fixer, feeling like she had been transported to another world, with features like an outdoor shower on the balcony, champagne bar in the closet, and Moroccan plastering in the bathroom.
Team 2: Keith & Evan
In season three of Rock the Block, the master suite closet was something that Keith and Evan had lost some points on and they pulled out all the stops to get it right this time around. They created a spacious closet area with lots of amazing features, like a fireplace, coffee station and fridge, and a connected laundry room. They used Kona luxury vinyl flooring in Sunrise, part of Mannington’s ADURA®Max family, to create a cohesive look between the closet, laundry room, and bedroom. The suite also features lots of brass and gold accents and marble in the bathroom to create a space that feels luxurious but inviting.
Team 3: Lyndsay & Leslie
Wellness was a big theme in Lyndsay and Leslie’s master suite. They wanted to create a space that felt like a spa retreat and brought in amenities like a sauna, large shower, cold plunge pool on the balcony, and fridge in the bedroom that can be used for beverages or keeping skin care products chilled. They also created a highly functional closet, complete with laundry area, and a gorgeous bedroom area with a calming color palette. Both the bedroom and closet feature Sonoma luxury vinyl flooring in Cork, part of Mannington’s ADURA®Max collection.
Team 4: Bryan & Sarah
With their home’s Natural Zen aesthetic, Bryan and Sarah turned their master suite into a calming and peaceful retreat. Swiss Oak luxury vinyl flooring in Truffle, part of Mannington’s ADURA®Max line, is used in the bedroom and closet and it works perfectly to help them create a space that feels bright and airy. Their suite is also full of texture and premium features like a spacious shower with digital controls, thick bathroom counters, and lots of built-in storage.
Which team won? You’ll have to tune in to find out. New episodes of Rock the Block air on HGTV Mondays at 9:00 PM Eastern. Episodes are also available to stream on Max.
